Break a Leg is hosted by Deborah Sharn, St. Louis actor and singer, Artistic Advisor and board member of New Line Theatre, and Company Manager at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Her guests include local actors, directors, designers, critics, and writers, as well as artists working on and off Broadway and in regional theatre across America. The talk is always lively, intelligent, and in-depth. It's the only show in town where a working theatre artist interviews working theatre artists.

Deborah Sharn talks to playwright, actor and director Stephen Peirick who is directing the West End Players Guild’s production of “Rapture, Blister, Burn” by Gina Gionfriddo.  Ms. Gionfriddo is an American playwright and television writer. Other plays include, “Becky Shaw” and “After Ashley.”  

Stephen Peirick is a local playwright whose plays have been presented in St. Louis by Stray Dog Theatre and R-S Theatrics.

Deborah Sharn talks with Tony Award-winning actress Beth Leavel. Beth won a Tony Award for her role as Beatrice Stockwell in the musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone”.  Beth has also appeared in numerous Broadway shows including, “42nd Street”, “Crazy For You”, “Show Boat”, “The Civil War”, “Young Frankenstein”, “Mamma Mia!”, “Elf the Musical” and “Baby It’s You!”.  

Beth has also performed the role of Dolly Levi in The Muny’s  production of “Hello Dolly” and Aunt Eller in The Muny’s “Oklahoma” last summer. Deborah and Beth also talk about Beth's theatrical career and her upcoming cabaret performance at The Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis November 11 and 12, MUNY MAGIC.

Fox Theatre season that includes Beautiful – the Carole King musical, If/Then, The Bridges of Madison County, Matilda the Musical, Newsies, and The Sound of Music.  

As Executive Producer along with Mike Isaacson, she and Mike have produced award winning shows such as Legally Blonde, Caroline or Change, Red, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Bring It On The Musical and the recent Tony awarding winning musical Fun Home among others.

Deborah talks with Artistic Director, Donna Northcott about Smoking Monkey’s next show, “Game of Thrones: The Parody”.  Each spring Smoking Monkey presents an original,  late-night parody of a beloved cult movie or TV show. Smoking Monkey Theatre is a spin-off company of St. Louis Shakespeare. Past shows parodied include, “Lord of The Rings”, “The Ten Commandments”, “Valley of the Dolls”, “Star Wars” among others.
